Metal toe taps are a popular addition to traditional leather-soled footwear, extending the longevity of these shoes by protecting against wear at the "toes" of the sole.
The foremost part of the sole's bottom layer is removed by a professional cobbler, and a metal plate is screwed on in its place. This "toe tap" is flush with both the bottom of the leather sole and with the sides of the welt. It therefore remains both unseen unless looking directly at the sole.
To add toe taps to your pair, simply add this product to your cart when purchasing such a shoe, and our cobbler will add Lulu-brand toe taps to your pair before shipment.
